Mutators in Thronefall will apply various negative modifiers. Players can choose all 7 Mutators or any combination of them for each level separately. If you want to change the modifiers, you either have to quit or be defeated and go back to the map selection screen. Weapons, Perks and Mutators are all available on the same screen.
Mutator rewards are additive and will increase the difficulty of the game. Some are not so difficult, like the Snake God. Others like Falcon God, Tiger God and God of Destruction are outright Brutal when combined.
This difficulty modifier is welcomed after unlocking all the Perks because players get overpowered in regular walkthroughs. Some people like being overpowered. If that’s your jam. Other like a challenge.
Here are all 7 Mutators in Thronefall:
Turtle God
Enemies have a lot more health points, but you get 20% more points and XP if you win.
Tiger God
Enemies deal a lot more damage, but you get 20% more points and XP if you win.
Snake God
Enemies drop less gold, but you get 20% more points and XP if you win.
Falcon God
Enemies are a lot faster, but you get 20% more points and XP if you win.
God of Destruction
Buildings only heal 33% of their health points every morning. Destroyed buildings take an additional day to get repaired, but you get 20% more points and XP if you win.
Wasp God
Doubles the amount of enemies in the first three nights, but you get 20% more points and XP if you win.
God of Death
Allied units are no longer revived at night and your own revive time is drastically increased, but you get 20% more gold and XP if you win.
